Our vision for change
The Equitable Teaching Lab (ETL) is an innovation hub that centers equity in how and
what educators teach. It’s a place for learning new frameworks to guide equitable teaching; a
resource that expands an educator’s toolkit on equitable teaching practices; a peer-educator community
with which to explore ideas and get feedback; a collaborative environment for pedagogical
research and practice; and a welcoming space for teaching improvement.
ETL works with faculty in higher education in the U.S. and across the globe to improve their
teaching by innovating toward equity. We conduct research in classrooms with faculty and
students and cycle back what we learn to support continuous improvement of equitable
teaching. We draw on insights gained to inform academic leaders, policymakers, funders,
researchers, and educators.
